Coffee drinkers get less liver cancer. Every little bit helps.
Researchers at University of Southern California followed people over 18 years and found that daily coffee drinkers were less likely to develop hepatocellular carcinoma, or HCC, which is the most common form of liver cancer. Moderation is OK, but heavy drinkers did even better!
Compared with people who drank no more than six cups of coffee per week, those who drank one to three cups per day were 29% less likely to HCC. Serious coffee drinkers -- those who downed four or more cups per day -- were 42% less likely to be diagnosed with the disease.
Four cups a day. Yes!
More good news:
Better heart health also. Actually it is better blood circulation through the tiny capillaries. But don’t try this with decaf; it is the caffeine that makes the difference. LA Times
